Molten aluminium being poured in a die casting foundry

Inside the process · 01 — The melt

Every casting starts as fire.

Molten aluminium, injected into a steel die under enormous pressure. Almost everything that can go wrong happens in the next few seconds — as the metal cools.

02 — The enemy

Two defects cause almost every rejection.

Where the die runs hot, shrinking metal tears voids you can't see. Where the shot traps air, bubbles hide just under the surface. You find both after machining — when the money is already spent.

03 — Solution one · Jet Cooling

Kill shrinkage where the die runs hot.

PRECISION NEO drives high-velocity coolant through the die's hottest sections — thin walls and core pins — so the metal solidifies before it can tear itself apart.

04 — Solution two · Vacuum

Give trapped air a way out.

PRECISION VAC ULTRA evacuates the shot sleeve and the mold in two stages, pulling air from the cavity before the metal arrives — so there's nothing left to trap.

05 — Keep it honest

A process proved on Monday, still proven on Friday.

AQUA SMART watches water temperature and conductivity in a closed loop, while jet coolers, core pins and chill vents keep the die working the way it was commissioned.

06 — The result

Castings, not scrap.

That's the whole business: two defects, two purpose-built fixes — designed, built and supported from Mumbai.
